NTT DATA Raises Awareness for Drug Overdose Epidemic Through Partnerships With DisposeRx and CHIME

PLANO, TX – February 5, 2019 – NTT DATA Services, a recognized leader in global technology services, today announced that it will join forces with DisposeRx to bring awareness to the opioid epidemic. In addition, NTT DATA Services is supporting the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) Opioid Task Force to help combat the opioid epidemic. The companies will exhibit at the 2019 Health Information Management System Society (HIMSS19) Global Conference and Exhibition, which runs from February 11-15, 2019.

NTT DATA Services has a long history of giving back at the HIMSS conference, including its build-a-bike program for a local elementary school with the Southern Nevada Bicycle Coalition. This year, NTT DATA Services, DisposeRx and CHIME are united in efforts to help combat the opioid crisis sweeping the nation through education, funds and technology.

DisposeRx, has a drug disposal solution that is safe and environmentally friendly, and will be handing out free sample packets at the NTT DATA Services HIMSS conference booth #3301. This solution allows individuals to throw away unused prescriptions without contaminating the ecosystem or risking that they end up in the wrong hands.

Additionally, NTT DATA Services is engaging in a social media awareness and give back activity in its booth. NTT DATA Services has pledged to donate $5 to the CHIME Opioid Task Force for each photo on social media with the hashtag #NTTDWhyICare, up to $15,000. Using Luster hashtag printers, the booth will display a mosaic wall made up of Instagram and Twitter pictures that include #NTTDWhyICare in the post. The large mosaic will be built in real-time at HIMSS19 and will be revealed and presented to the CHIME Opioid Task Force on Wednesday, February 13 at 5 p.m. EST in NTT DATA’s booth #3301.
